There are some days when you just have to get out of the kitchen.
And there are days where you just have to get out of town.
And then there are the days you just have to get to Maui.
Well, East of Maui.
Me and the husband are not spontaneous people.
Even laundry day requires planning and preparation.
But we’ve declared this “THE SUMMER OF US.”
Where spontaneity trumps responsibility.
At least on Saturdays where we’re both free and there isn’t a mountain of laundry to do.
This past Saturday we decided to hit the road (bikes) and head to the beach.
It was our longest trek together.
We stopped at cool little shops and explored beer making paraphenalia.
We talked to local water-sport enthusiasts and fantasized about kayaking vacations in Oregon.
We drank beer.
And drank in the scenery.
We refueled with farm fresh food.
And finally, we made it here.
A little slice of heaven at the end of a very long road.
Here’s to summer, spontaneity, and the summer of us.
I hope he can keep up!
